Dominica Citizenship

Citizenship by Investment

Overview of Dominica’s Citizenship By Investment Program

In 1993, the government of Dominica launched an initiative that allowed individuals to obtain Dominican citizenship through investment. The aim of this program is to enhance foreign economic participation to promote the country’s infrastructure development, support the local workforce by creating new job opportunities, and achieve sustainable economic growth and prosperity. Under this program, foreign investors are entitled to permanent legal citizenship and a secondary passport in a period ranging from 4 to 6 months, making it the fastest citizenship program in the Caribbean region.

How to obtain Dominica Citizenship through Investment

The Dominica program offers two investment routes:

  • A contribution to the Economic Diversification Fund

The Economic Diversification Fund (EFD) is a government fund established by the Commonwealth of Dominica to finance various development projects that contribute to the country’s overall growth and diversification. So, by contributing to the EDF, individuals can qualify for Dominica citizenship.

The minimum investment amount for the EDF option starts at $100,000. Please note that the contribution is non-refundable.

Contributions to the EDF are scaled as follows:

  • $100,000 – Single applicant
  • $150,000 – Main applicant and spouse
  • $175,000 – Main applicant up to three dependents
  • $25,000 – Additional dependent under the age of 18
  • $50,000 – Additional dependent 18 years of age and older
  • A real estate investment

Investing in approved real estate projects is an alternative option within the Dominica citizenship program that allows individuals to obtain citizenship by making a qualifying investment in designated real estate developments. Pay attention that the investment must be held for 3 years from the date citizenship is granted, or if the future purchaser is also granted citizenship by the investment applicant, 5 years from the date citizenship is granted. The minimum real estate purchase is $200,000.

The following government fee will apply:

  • $25,000 – Single Applicant
  • $435,000 – Family of up to 4 persons including the main applicant and up to 3 dependents
  • $50,000$ – Family up to 6 persons, including the main applicant and up to 5 dependents
  • $25,000 – Any additional qualified dependent.

NOTE: Additional charges apply, and all fees are subject to change at any time without notice.
