The change\u2014effective immediately\u2014was announced on June 27, 2017.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The change in entry extends to those who already have an existing electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) and all future visitors. Despite the end of visa-free travel, Canada will continue to welcome visitors from Antigua and Barbuda, as long as they are approved to receive a visa. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">According to a <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #0563c1;\"><span lang=\"zxx\"><u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ab.gov.ag\/media_page.php?page=186\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">government of Antigua and Barbuda press release<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/u><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">, most approved visa applicants will receive a multiple-entry visa, which allows travellers from Antigua and Barbuda to visit Canada as many times as they want for up to 10 years. On each visit, travellers can stay up to six months. The average visa processing time is around 14 days.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The ban is rooted in concerns over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.migrateworld.com\/ar\/program\/citizenship-by-investment\/antigua-and-barbuda\/\">Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s Citizenship by Investment program<\/a> and more specifically, that it is not a residency program. This means individuals with no previous ties to the country, but who<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #0563c1;\"><span lang=\"zxx\"><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.migrateworld.com\/ar\/antigua-and-barbuda\/\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> meet the program requirements<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/u><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> can receive citizenship and ultimately a passport.
