Nicknamed the Land of Honey for its historic reputation for producing the sweet treat, there\u2019s plenty of buzz about this small island country. Situated to the south of Sicily in the Mediterranean Sea, Malta is an archipelago\u2014though only a few islands are inhabited. If the landscape and sites look familiar, it might be because Malta is home to a burgeoning film industry and over 100 feature films have been shot on its sunny shores. <\/span><\/p>\n

The rich and complex history of Malta is present on every street corner, but modern amenities can also be found. The result is a glorious mix of old and new\u2014the historic and modern. Being an island nation in the Mediterranean, boating is extremely popular and luxury yachts dot the coastline and its many marinas. <\/span><\/p>\n

The capital, Valletta, was designed a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Though the locals may call it simply \u201cthe city\u201d, only approximately 6,000 people live in the city centre itself, while the surrounding metropolitan area is home to over 300,000 more.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Maltese Government offers the Maltese Individual Investor Program which allows the state to grant citizenship to those who contribute to the economic development of the country. Naturalization includes all the benefits of citizenship\u2014including a passport and the ability to move throughout the European Union.
